آج کل کچھ ممالک جیسے اسرائیل وغیرہ کی مصنوعات کے بائیکاٹ کی مہم جاری ہے۔ کہا جاتا ہے کہ کسی بھی پروڈکٹ کے بارکوڈ کو پڑھ کر اس ملک کا پتا چلایا جا سکتا ہے جہاں پر وہ بنی ہے۔ تاہم یہ بات صرف اس حد تک درست ہے کہ بارکوڈ کے پہلے تین ہندسے اس ملک کی نشان دہی کرتے ہیں جہاں پر وہ کمپنی رجسٹر ہے .۔ نیچے دیئے گئیے جدول میں کچھ ممالک کے بارکوڈ کے پہلے تین ہندسے دئیے جا رہے ہیں.
